President’s Report

I hope you are having a productive and profitable Spring.  Our goal as a board is to provide an opportunity to meet new people, get some information that will make your job easier and enjoy yourself with your peers. We have a lot planned for next meeting.

Jake Kepich has invited the Skill’s USA award and our Scholarship winner to this meeting along with their parents. I hope we have a big turnout to make these young people feel welcome and appreciated. Spring is always an exciting time for young graduates. Take a moment to introduce yourself and make them feel welcome. Can you remember when you were their age and had the world in front of you?

Last month Joe Long from Old World Industries talked about changes in the production and make up of coolant due to manufacturer requirements. He presented a lot of information in a short time. Copper and steel versus aluminum radiators and engine components. Nitrite versus Nitrite-free, always a big debate. Hydrometers, Test Strips, Refractometers, Oh My! Green, Fuchsia, Blue or Red coolant. What to use? In case you were like me, “What the heck is Fuchsia?”.

  1. Fuchsia (/ˈfjuːʃə/, FEW-shə) is a vivid purplish red color, named after the color of the flower of the fuchsia plant, which took its name from the 16th century German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.

Remember to pick up some “Free Dinner” cards to be handed out to potential members. Extra cards will be available at every meeting. Please feel free to take some and hand them to anyone who has an interest in our organization. Get the word out. Our organization is a wonderful chance to network and meet others who share the same issues that you meet on a daily basis. Bring a guest!

Our next meeting is coming up quickly and will be Tuesday the 14th of May at the Timbuktu Restaurant in Hanover. See you there.

Sincerely,
Brian Pickett
